200 HOUR TEACHER TRAINING

This 200-hour program flows over a 6 month period. Completion of the full program satisfies the requirements for Yoga Alliance certification at the 200-hour level. The program is open to students who wish to deepen their practice, to those who want to learn to teach yoga, and to teachers who are looking to expand their knowledge and satisfy continuing education requirements. Teachers who have already registered with Yoga Alliance will receive qualified hours toward continuing education.
 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect to dive into the roots of yoga and open your heart. As you deepen your practice and develop new skills, you will also begin to find your own voice as a teacher. Our program features a full curriculum that includes:


DEVELOPMENT OF CORE TEACHING SKILLS

  • Principles of proper alignment and
    integrated alignment within the flow of a class

  • Key language skills

  • Observation skills

  • Hands on adjustments and enhancements

  • Foundational alignment, preparations and
    modifications for full spectrum of asanas

CLASS EVOLUTION

  • Creating a collective flow — learn the common elements of a class and how to set a specific bhavana (feeling) that is appropriate for the theme of the class

  • Develop a purposely sequenced class plan centered around a theme and peak pose

  • Recognize the relationships between asanas and appropriate sequencing

  • Learn the function and energy of the asanas

  • At the root of vinyasa is Vinyasa Krama — Learn how this principle applies to both the stages of individual asanas and the greater flow of a class

  • Learn to use music as a tool to create and enhance the bhavana of a class

NAVIGATING THE FLOW

  • Integrating alignment within the flow

  • Multi-dimensional sequencing

  • Class planning techniques

  • Based on observation skills, learn to give specific verbal cues to enhance alignment
